The Chinese Labour report we mentioned yesterday has brought a few new surprises to the tech-sphere in the past few hours. Now since the report was published, 9to5Mac have uncovered further evidence that a low cost budget iPhone is on route.
The report states that:
“Its assembled products include iPhone 4, iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, and low-priced plastic iPhones.”
And also defines that the firm was working on further manufacturing of a so called ‘plastic’ iPhone:
“Today’s work is to paste protective film on the iPhone’s plastic back cover to prevent it from being scratched on assembly lines. This iPhone model with a plastic cover will soon be released on the market by Apple. […] The new cell phone has not yet been put into mass production, so quantity is not as important.”
Of course, this is just a report from a labour watchdog – but the conclusive evidence does point towards the fact that Apple is in the process of producing a cheaper iPhone… This isn’t the only report we’ve heard and now, as the image builds up, we can tell that Apple will likely give us a cheaper handset within the coming months. Let us know what you think of the budget iPhone. Will it ruin Apple’s ‘luxurious’ reputation?
